I’ve had it in my head since I saw this picture of Amanda Brooks (above) that I wanted to find a military style jacket I could belt and wear like she is. I love the idea of wearing something masculine but in a feminine way. With a pair of heels, with red lipstick or belted to accentuate your waist.
Although I’ve been searching for something similar to what Amanda’s wearing in this picture, I knew I didn’t want to spend a lot of money on it. I knew it would more than likely be a bit of a passing fad for me, so I wanted something quite cheap and cheerful.
Yesterday, I found exactly what I was looking for.
This military style vest has a hood that can be zipped away or worn out. It has enough detail on it that it’s interesting, yet not bulky and it’s lined so it should keep me relatively warm.
I have loads of ideas about how I’ll wear it. Here’s just a couple..
I’d add lot’s of jewelry, painted nails and glossy lips so I didn’t look too masculine.
My new military jacket is from Dimmeys men’s department and cost me $5.99.
I’m pretty happy with my little Chic on a Budget bargain. What do you think?
