The Best Thing That Happened To Me Today

Today was set to be one of those non-extraordinary days. Catch up on some admin, put together a couple of Online Style Consultation summaries and respond to a back log of emails.
Mid morning, about four hours in to what was going to be a long day at the computer, my security buzzer alarmed me that there was someone here to see me. A delivery man. With a package.
When I could see it was a box, I couldn’t race up the stairs fast enough to open it. And when I did this is what I discovered..
A beautiful card, with a thoughtful message from a gorgeous friend and a delicious array of shiny new beauty products for me to try. This was a completely out-of-the-blue, no special occasion surprise. To say I was overwhelmed is an understatement.

Of course I love the gift because I’m a cosmetics/beauty product junkie, but in all honesty it could have been a feather my friend found on the ground. It was the card and the gesture that really got me. There is nothing better than knowing that someone has been thinking of you. It reminded me how nice it was to receive an unexpected gift and made me realise that I don’t do it myself enough.
FYI – These products weren’t sent to me to review, they were just sent as a generous gift by a special friend, however, once I’ve had a chance to play around and paint my face with them, if there are any stand-outs I think you should know about, I’ll be sure to let you know.

Isnt that funny. At a recent family get together a couple of the men were talking about the fact that their socks are always used by us women all the time and they never had any socks to wear. So on Wednesday I sent a few pairs off to my dad and husband via express post as a surprise. I think they got a real kick out of it. I know I did. Even though it was something small it made me happy to think that I might bring a little cheer in their day.
