If Nothing Changes, Nothing Changes

“If you always do what you’ve always done, you’ll always get what you’ve always got.” Henry Ford
This is one of my favourite sayings. It’s a message that applies to so many areas of our lives. Our health, our relationships, our fitness, our careers and our style.
We can’t expect anything to evolve or get better, unless we make a commitment to make some adjustments.
If you’re feeling un-enthused about your clothes and tired of your look obviously something must need to change.
For some it could just be as simple as mixing things up a bit.
Wearing the same styles and shapes, from the same shops and brands, in the same way, day in day out will mean that this time next year you’ll still be feeling the same way.
So here’s a little challenge for you. Instead of buying things from the shop you bought from last time and the time before that, start looking for clothes and accessories, in unexpected places.
For those who regularly read my blog, you might recall I bought the green shirt I’m wearing here in the men’s section of Cotton On. I bought this shirt (which I also wore in the MamaMia article) from a local op-shop. And I bought the orange sneakers in the photo above for $8 in the kids section at Target. (I replaced the laces because I didn’t like the originals and bar laced them).
Come back and let me know (in the comments section below) what you find.

I have tried two stores that I hadn’t been in for many years, I’m turning 40 this year, so have been shopping in Sussan, Jacqui E, Ojay, David Lawrence etc for quite a while. Just before Christmas I browsed a few stores I hadn’t been in for a long time. Forever New had a gorgeous lace top, which has been my go to top through the festive season and Sportsgirl have great skinny leg cargoes. I ended up buying them in black and khaki. The sizing is quite honest too. I’m a 12-14, and the 12 fitted fine. Having a few “trendy” items in the cupboard has made me feel far more confident in casual. (I spend most of my clothes money on business clothes, as that’s what I wear the majority of the time.). Loving your new “finds” series btw.
Great post. I have been on the hunt for clothes I wouldn’t usually buy…one place that really impressed me was Temt. You can pick up something new for as little as $10. Its a great place for cheaper items.
Nighties from Country Road make excellent summer dresses.
