MEAGHAN SMITH PERSONAL STYLIST

This is one of my favourite street style looks from the couture shows in Paris last week.

It’s not necessarily something I’d wear, but I’m still very inspired by it.

What I noticed and liked about it is…

I like that she chose a white bag (Working with the white in her dress, obviously) – keeping the look light. She could have gone for black, but it would have made the outfit darker.

The gold on the bag works with the gold in the dress, as well as the gold in her glasses and her tiny hoop earrings.

I like that she only wore minimal subtle jewellery, given a lot is already going on in the outfit.

I loved the pop of red on her nails.

Rather than just any old notepad, she’s chosen one that works with her outfit.

What I think is really clever is how the “m” in the “miu miu” on her glasses mimics the shape of the print on her dress.

HOW TO MAKE YOUR WEEKDAY DRESSING EASIER AND QUICKER.

Plan on the weekend.

If I have an upcoming big week, I’ll look at my diary to see what I’m doing and put some outfits together. (Usually Sunday afternoon.)

Sometimes it’s just a quick 15 or 20 minutes, where I throw a few combinations together on the bed. And other times, like today, I might play around in my wardrobe for a while, and see what I can come up with.

Along the way, I’ll take photos which I’ll save on my phone.

Apart from saving you time and energy, it’ll encourage you to wear more of your clothes and make the most of your wardrobe.

I’ve previously teamed this skirt with Birkenstocks and a t-shirt, I’ll be trying it with a leather jacket and boots (maybe) when it cools, and this week I wore it to a funeral with a blazer – similar to this.

I always think about all the ways I can wear something before I decide to buy it. (And it doesn’t matter how much it costs.) If I can only come up with one, I’ll leave it.

Remember, you can still have lots of outfits without having lots of stuff.

BTW – my skirt’s newish from the Ines de la Fressange range at Uniqlo. I got it on sale for less than $50 – and I love it!
