Hair As An Accessory

Hair As An Accessory

Sometimes you can change the look and feel of an outfit by changing up your hair.

For example, a ponytail or a messy bun, can make a pantsuit look more casual and relaxed.

Also, as you can see here, if you’ve got enough of it to play with, hair can be used as an extra accessory.

Try and imagine how different this look would be if she was wearing her hair down.

The Style Dilemma Session (FaceTime Styling)

13 Sep

The Style Dilemma Session

Have you ever thought, I wish I could ask Meaghan which shoes I should wear with this dress tonight?

Or…

  • How much should I get taken off these pants?
  • Is this suit outdated?
  • What should I wear to the job interview, the presentation, or the conference?
  • Do these jeans fit properly?
  • How do I define my style?
  • Are these shoes ok with these pants?
  • Do you think I could do anything with this dress that was my Mum’s?
  • What gaps do I have in my wardrobe for spring?
  • Can I wear a belt with this?
  • These earrings or these?
  • What should stay, and what should go?
  • What style of dress suits me?
  • How do I style this?

Now you can – online.

How does ‘The Style Dilemma’ session work?

Over FaceTime. I’ll call you, and you’ll tell me what you’d like my help with.

Afterwards, I’ll send through any notes I took during the session, including a list of gaps we might have identified.

You also have the option for me to send you links to what I think you could add/buy.

How To Do The Half Tuck

How To Do The Half Tuck

If you’re a half-tucker, make sure you have the buttoned side hanging out, and the unbuttoned side tucked in (as above) and not like this (below).

As you can see it looks much cleaner and neater. 🙂

A Way To Update Your Wardrobe

A Way To Update Your Wardrobe

Once you’ve built a good wardrobe of staples, then each season, rather than buying a heap of new clothes, (unless of course, you want to) all you need to do is add a few of-the-moment pieces that will refresh your look, give you more outfits and make you feel modern.

Updating your wardrobe like this, also means that when you combine a new piece (maybe trendy, maybe not) with something you already have, it’ll feel like you. (As opposed to a whole new trendy outfit that can feel a bit overwhelming.)

In this photo, @jane_mcfarland shows us how we could give an old suit a fresh look by adding an on-trend piece – the waistcoat.
