Wardrobe Overhaul – Scarves

3 Nov

Who’s got one of these fuzzy little things in the wardrobe?

Have a think about it…

Does this piece represent the style and image you want to portray?

If the answer’s yes, hang on to it and wear it with pride, but if the answer’s no, then get it out as quick as you can.

If your Nan made it and you don’t want to part with it, pop it the sentimental storage tub with your uni t-shirts and wedding shoes.

Can You Guess Who This Is?

31 Oct

Now that the Oprah show is no longer, this is one of the best make-under’s I’ve seen in a long time.

Before you scroll down, see if you can guess who it is.

Here’s a hint.  You might recognise her if she was wearing a swimsuit.

Did you guess correctly?

Pamela’s new pixie cut is a great example of how our hairstyle (and of course our clothes) can impact our style and the image we portray.

Wearing Navy With Black

6 Oct

Contrary to old-fashioned, outdated “fashion rules”, navy and black can be worn together – and in fact – can, if done well, look incredibly chic.

No, it more than likely won’t work when you try combining your navy suit jacket with your black suit pants.  Chance are you’ll look like you got dressed in the dark.

But it will work beautifully with a black pencil skirt and a navy silk blouse, a navy dress and a black patent leather belt or black jeans, a navy sweater and a black leather jacket.

Give it a go.  It just might give you a few more outfit combinations from the clothes you have hanging in your wardrobe. Ones that you might never have considered before.

Keep in mind, it’s all about the shade of the blue and the texture of the fabrics.

Are Your Clothes Making You Feel Bad About Yourself?

26 Sep

Not wearing the best, most flattering styles, materials, underwear and lengths for our shape (no matter what our age or size) can make us start to think our body is different to what it really is.   It makes us focus on the bits we don’t like so much and forget about the lovely things.

For example, the wrong jeans can make you look like your butt is bigger than it is and the wrong sleeves can make you look broader and heavier through the bust.

In the photo above, did you notice this woman’s incredible ankles?

In this dress (and these shoes) they’re not being highlighted and accentuated at all.   All the attention is being paid elsewhere.  A different length for a start,  would make an enormous difference.

Are your clothes making you think evil, negative thoughts about your body…or is what you wear making you feel good about yourself?
