This Is One Way to Update Your Autumn/Winter Skirts And Dresses

21 Apr

One way you can change the look of some of your autumn/winter pieces is to add fancy hosiery.

Don’t just think of tights as something you wear for warmth – think of them as an item you can add to your clothes as decoration.

Black is certainly chic and somewhat safe, but don’t be afraid to experiment with other colors if it suits your personality and the image you’re wanting to portray.

Updating your wardrobe doesn’t always mean having to spend a lot of money.

Be creative!

Here’s some polka dot tights I found on sale.

Tights As Pants

18 Mar

As the weather starts to cool down and we’re reaching for warmer clothes, I thought it was a good time for a little reminder…

Tights are not pants.

If it’s comfort you’re after, there are many other stylish options.

* In case you’re wondering, tights should not be worn as pants in summer or spring either.

Embrace Your Uniqueness

Take note – all of you who read my blog and those clients of mine who have told me they’re “too pale”, “can’t expose their legs because they’re so white”  and feel they need to always cover up (with tights, tan, etc) – of all the lovely pale skin on show at the Oscars.

Not an orange tan in sight.

Embrace your uniqueness.

Pale is beautiful!

The Light Trench

22 Feb

As autumn approaches it’s time to think about what could be added to your wardrobe to transition it from the warmer to cooler weather.

A light trench coat is one such piece worth considering because it offers so much versatility.

Wear it to work with a skirt and blouse, out for dinner with your jeans, throw it over your shoulders if you’re going to a wedding or wear it casually to a gallery or while you’re watching your kids play sport on the weekend, with your boots or sneakers.

If your style is not too classic look for something a bit different…edgier and unique (like the one pictured).  Contrary to popular thought, trench coats come in various versions of the original style.

As with everything you wear always think about whether the style is flattering for your body shape and inspect it from head to toe, (don’t forget back and side on too) to ensure the fit is right.
