How To Make Your Bum Look Bigger In Jeans

23 Apr

Should you wish to draw attention, highlight and accentuate your bottom and thighs, wear jeans with bold details (buttons, stitching, diamantes, fading, etc) on the back pockets.

Should you wish not to, avoid them.

For the record,  I don’t think any of these jeans are flattering…for several reasons.

How To Wear Cropped Jeans Without Making Your Legs Look Shorter Than They Are

4 Feb

If you’d like to wear a pair of cropped jeans (or pants) but are concerned they will make your legs appear shorter, look for styles that have a higher rise…and if possible, wear a heel (even if it’s just a small wedge or kitten heel)  *You don’t need to wear a heel, but you should be careful what shoes you do wear. Some styles can elongate the leg and others can make your legs appear shorter than they are.

Don’t be put off by the idea of a high-rise style. They sit differently on everyone – depending on the length of the torso.

Like all styles, they might work, they might not.

Remember shopping is about trying on and sampling.

*And while this picture above is of a young, tall, slim model – this applies to all of us at any age, height or size.

**And when I say cropped, I do not mean three quarter length. Like so!

***This also applies for cuffing/rolling your jeans and cutting your jeans.

The Skirt That Flatters Most Body Shapes

29 Dec

The skirt that universally flatters most body shapes is the A-line.

An A-line skirt is a skirt that is fitted at the hips and gradually widens towards the hem, giving the impression of the shape of a capital letter A.

This particular skirt shape will highlight the waist, skim over the hips and can visually balance your frame if you have broad shoulders or a large bust.

Of course, this doesn’t mean every (or any for that matter) A-line will work for you. When you try this type of skirt pay attention to the length, where it sits on your waist, the fabric, the fit, the pattern and the pockets.

*If you want to accentuate your waist and lengthen your legs, make sure you’re wearing your skirts at the most flattering  place on your waist and finishing at the most flattering part of your leg.
