Something I See Often When I’m Shopping With Clients

11 Apr

men shopping

I think there should be a “Gentleman’s Lounge” in department stores and shopping centres, where bored men can go and watch the footy/races/read, etc…and sit and wait for their partners while they’re shopping for clothes.

I’m often amused when I see men (and I see it all the time) walking 5 feet behind, patiently sitting and waiting or being asked “What do you think?”….all with a very blank, completely uninterested/tortured expression on their face. It always makes me laugh.

So I think this Instagram feed “Miserable Men – Men that went shopping” is hilarious.

Look familiar?

Day To Night Dressing

7 Apr

A suit worn casually with a pair of sneakers and a tee during the day and then….dressed up in the evening with heels and fancy earrings.

This is what I’ve mentioned many times before about using your clothes in lots of different ways.

Making sure when you buy something that you’re not restricted by only being able to wear it one way.

If you missed it read –  “The Final Question I Ask Myself Before I Make A Purchase” here.

Does Your Bra Fit You Properly?

6 Apr

Let’s face it most of us (including me) are guilty of wearing bras past their doing-their-job date.

One good way to check whether your bra fits you properly is to do the following test..

If when you lift your arms in the air your breasts pop out the bottom, the band is more than likely too big and/or the cup is too small.

As I mentioned here (and here), what you wear underneath, makes a huge difference to how your clothes look on you.

Weekend Wardrobe Challenge

1 Apr

Toss..

Old-fashioned suits, jackets, blazers and coats – that can’t be remodeled.

If they can be reinvented – Do it! – don’t leave them hanging in the wardrobe untouched for another decade.

Be ruthless. Don’t hang on to anything that doesn’t make you feel great.

It was 1988 when Working Girl was released, so it’s fairly obvious that the fashion from then is now outdated (or in some cases, vintage)

Knowing whether something from the last decade has become out of style is not as easy – especially for people who don’t regularly follow fashion.

If you find going through your wardrobe and deciding what stays and what goes, daunting and would like some help deciding which of your suits, jackets and coats (among other things) are still current or not, which ones can be remodeled and which ones to let go of,  you can contact me here.

If you’re on a roll and up for more wardrobe challenges you can find them here.
