Summer Work Style
21 Jan

Sometimes summer dressing, particularly for work, can feel a little flat, plain and uninspired.
Wearing fewer pieces on the body and mostly going without jackets, means you have less to rely on for visual interest.
Here are a few ideas if you’d like some of your warm weather office outfits, (or just in general), to look and feel a bit more appealing…
Texture Even if you’re only wearing two pieces – A top and pants – your outfit can still have depth by way of texture. (The top in this photo is an example)
Shape You can create drama, add feminity, modernity, sharpness, fluidity, etc… with pieces with different shapes and lines.
Color Even if you are just combining two pieces it can be interesting. There are more options than black with a color. This photo is an example.
ShoesAnd bags, belts, glasses, and jewellery….but mostly shoes will have a huge impact on your outfit. You could be wearing a simple navy or black dress and a fabulous shoe. Easy A simple navy or black dress and a simple black shoe. A bit dull.
FYI – Shoes and accessories can also add texture, shine, color, shape, and modernity to your outfits. For example, a brown plaited belt or white mesh shoes.
Unexpected I know it’s not for everyone (and it won’t work in all work environments) but it might be for you, try combining a couple of unexpected pieces together. I.e. a dressy-ish pleated skirt with casual-ish flat sandals, or a dressy t-shirt with smart trousers and a kitten heel. Something you might not necessarily consider putting together.
